| In September 2023, a significant Microsoft Exchange vulnerability was released, leading to many reports within the media of potential cyber attacks. The suspicious activity surrounding the attacks was known to be originating from one specific threat. Utilising the new Police CyberAlarm Suspicious Activity Search feature, the team was able to detect and pinpoint 230 instances of suspicious activity, from the threat actor, occurring between the 12th and 17th August. |
| The Outcome |
| Thanks to this, PCA was able to identify the breadth and scope of these attacks, across the national PCA member base and alert potential victims through the UK Protect network. |
