The Background |
---|
Police CyberAlarm (PCA) provides members with reports on vulnerabilities detected on their public facing network and websites. In the event of a new threat, such as a critical vulnerability that may allow complete system compromise, PCA can identify members who may be impacted. Local Cyber Protect police teams will then alert members know as soon as possible. |
The Outcome |
In April 2023, two critical firewall vulnerabilities came to light. 40 Police CyberAlarm members who were at risk were contacted within hours. Contacting members swiftly allows them to take action to mitigate the vulnerability, reducing the chances of the member being compromised and becoming a victim of a successful cyber-attack. |
